Kamastawa (Keluarga Mahasiswa Sastra Jawa) has grown and evolved as an essential organization under the auspices of the Javanese Language, Literature, and Culture program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FIB UGM). Throughout its journey, this Student Association has undergone several name changes to align with the name of the Study Program, including:

2. KMSN (Keluarga Mahasiswa Sastra Nusantara)
3. KAMASUTRA (Keluarga Mahasiswa Sastra Nusantara) March 3, 2005–May 2, 2021
4. KAMASTAWA (Keluarga Mahasiswa Sastra Jawa) May 3, 2021– December 17, 2023
5. KAMASTAWA (Keluarga Mahasiswa Bahasa, Sastra, dan Budaya Jawa) December 18, 2023-present
