Yogyakarta – During PPSMB UGM, new students are introduced to campus terms, the campus environment, and even the intricacies of their chosen study programs. These introductions are crucial as they relate to the smooth progress of their studies until graduation. One of these important events is the “Orientation of Study Plan Card (KRS) for New Students 2022” organized by the Scientific Division of HMJ KAMASTAWA. The activity was conducted online via Zoom Meeting on Wednesday (3/8) and commenced at 07:30 pm until completion.
During the orientation, the Academic Division, comprising Vighna R. Hernawan as the coordinator, and members Rafael Raga, Novita Nurhasanah, Refiana Nur Pawesti, and Fazi Arifian Pradana, conducted the event systematically with assigned tasks. Rafael Raga acted as the moderator, while other members fulfilled roles such as material explanation, operator, minute-taking, attendance, and, most importantly, actively participating in the Q&A session.
Though the main objective of the activity was to familiarize students with the process of filling out the KRS in Simaster, the Science Division also provided information on the courses to be taken in the first semester. Additionally, they explained academic terminologies, the grading system, Kartu Hasil Studi (KHS – Study Result Card), and the various features of the Simaster application relevant to the learning process. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The introduction of new students before the core presentation was carried out with enthusiasm, as well as the Q&A session conducted at the end of the session further showed that the new students felt comfortable with the presentation that had been delivered.
“Thank you to all the seniors who explained the KRS, we hope it will make the process easier for us tomorrow when we do our KRS!” said Sahidha Aisya, a new student of Javanese Literature 2022.
“The explanation from the seniors was enjoyable and relaxed, so i didn’t feel sleepy. The questions from fellow students also provided additional information. Thank you!” said RR. Nur Amanda Ajeng Pratiwi, a new student of Javanese Literature 2022.
The KRS orientation, a routine and essential program of the Scientific Division of HMJ KAMASTAWA serves as the first assistant for new Javanese Literature students. Moreover, the Scientific Division assists in the form of appreciation services and consultations related to academic matters, regardless of the student’s batch.
