The Student Association of the Department (HMJ) of the Study Program of Javanese Language, Literature, and Culture, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FIB UGM), held Abhiseka Kramasisya 2026 on Saturday, 12 September 2026. This activity was a welcoming event and inauguration ceremony for new students of the Study Program of Javanese Language, Literature, and Culture. As part of the initial series of university life, the 2026 cohort of new students participated in the activity to become acquainted with the academic environment while building a sense of togetherness with the academic community of the study program.

The series of Abhiseka Kramasisya 2026 featured various activities that introduced new students to university life. The activity began with an opening dance performance, followed by remarks from the hosts and the organizing committee. New students also had the opportunity to learn about campus life experiences through a talk show with alumni and a question-and-answer session with lecturers. Interactive games also helped create a more relaxed atmosphere before the series of activities continued with the siraman ceremony as one of the parts of welcoming the new students.

Following the welcoming activities, the event continued with an arts performance that provided a space for new students to express themselves through various forms of performance. The stage provided an opportunity for them to showcase their interests and talents while interacting with other students, the organizing committee, lecturers, and alumni in a more relaxed atmosphere. The creativity of the new students was evident in the various performances presented, one of which was a short theater performance that combined moral messages, humor about campus life, and social criticism. The students not only performed as actors but were also involved in bringing the story to life through character development and the presentation of the performance. The performance received a positive response from the audience through laughter and appreciation expressed throughout the show. More than merely entertainment, the arts performance also provided an opportunity for new students to gain the confidence to perform, create together, and get to know one another through the creative process. The interactions that developed during the performance also strengthened the sense of togetherness among the new students.

Documentation of the student arts performance

Through this series of activities, Abhiseka Kramasisya 2026 was not only a welcoming and inauguration event for new students but also part of an initial introduction to student life within the Study Program of Javanese Language, Literature, and Culture. This introduction did not stop at academic life but also demonstrated that being a student of Javanese Language, Literature, and Culture means having space to develop creativity and various potentials. The arts performance became one of the spaces for introducing this to new students, showing that Javanese language, literature, and culture are not only studied through academic activities but can also be brought to life through creativity and works. Thus, student creativity can become part of efforts to maintain, preserve, and develop Javanese culture so that it remains alive and can provide benefits to society.
