Yogyakarta (30/10/2023) - Javanese Language, Literature, and Culture Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has held a public lecture on the topic of "skorpus-based research methods" on Friday (27/10/2023) and took place in room 709, Soegondo Building 7th floor, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, UGM. The public lecture was attended by students of the Javanese Language, Literature, and Culture Study Program, as well as other participants who were interested in the topic.

The public lecture on this occasion presented Karlina Denistia, Ph.D., lecturer at Sebelas Maret University (UNS), as the speaker, Imam Prakoso, S.S., M.A., lecturer at the UGM Javanese Language, Literature and Culture Study Program, as moderator, and Nanda Nursa Alya, a 2021 student, as the announcer.

In her presentation, Karlina Denistia, Ph.D., introduced the corpus to the participants. A corpus is a collection of words contained in a text, then processed electronically with the intention of knowing the use of a language in society. In addition to introducing the corpus, she also guided the participants to use the corpus, and include it in the research method. The corpus studied is the corpus contained in cqpweb.lancs.ac.uk. Learning about the corpus was wrapped in a quiz so that it would arouse the curiosity of the public lecture participants. The enthusiasm of the participants can be seen from the various questions asked to Karlina Denistia, Ph.D.
